With a student population of over 73,000, $813 million in annual research funding, and five campuses throughout the State of Massachusetts, the University of Massachusetts (UMass) is the #1 public university in New England. The goal of Project Fast Lane was to modernize and unify how the university system managed travel, expense, and reimbursement. Prior to the project, each campus manually monitored and enforced business travel and expense policies and procedures.

UMass chose Concur as the travel and expense platform to implement due to its ability to handle pre-travel approval and integrate with UMass systems leveraging the extensive experience of Concur in the High Education Space. With Project Fast Lane completed, all five UMass campuses have seen improved efficiency with streamlined travel and expense process and faster approval times.

"Concur was especially helpful on the road. The mobile app allowed me to receive proactive trip related updates, sped up the ability to manage my own travel and expense needs real-time and gave me options to continue to be productive to keep team approval workflows going...a great upgrade to the UMass T&E experience"
