We had a terrific response to The Perfect Trip Fund Pitch Contest—8 finalists will now vie for $100K
in funding awards next week at DevCon 2014. The audience, along with a panel of experts, will vote for their two favorites. There won’t be swinging red chairs but there will be rock-star apps that help travelers and businesses plan and optimize trips, save money and track spend.
Here’s a preview of the 8 finalists competing in two categories.
Best Innovation for Travelers: The Finalists

With Paradine, you can share restaurant recommendations with your trusted network of colleagues and clients. The app also integrates with Concur for insights on restaurant favorites that are in policy and recommended by colleagues. This is especially handy when you’re traveling for work.

The app also integrates with Concur to help business travelers plan itineraries, meetings and events from a single workspace that groups can access. Localeikki lets you plan active and outdoor outings while you’re on the road, with recommendations and ratings on destinations. The app has a database of recreation sites you can access, recommend and share when you’re traveling.
Best Travel Innovation for Businesses: The Finalists BillGuard, Inc. helps you track spending and protect your credit cards from fraud. It’s the #1 transaction monitoring app, providing breach alerts and updates. The app also helps you find coupons and deals for extra savings.
