Every year for the last eight years, we’ve gathered together our clients, partners, sponsors and Concur employees for our largest client event, Fusion. We think it’s one of the best ways for our clients to learn from us and each other. We just wrapped-up our time in Las Vegas, and this year far surpassed previous client events. We drew more than 1,400 clients, partners and Concur employees to The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. And we have to say, we had a fantastic time.
Why do clients come to Fusion? They come for the content and to learn as much about Concur as possible. Each day kicked off with keynote speeches from Concur executives Steve Singh, Raj Singh, John Love, Gregg Brockway, and Tom DePasquale. Clients heard first-hand about what’s on deck for the next year in terms of technological enhancements, where we will be focusing our growth opportunities (social, mobile, the cloud and the platform) and what kinds of feature improvements we’ve made over the course of the last year.
With more than 50 educational sessions, clients had their choice of content to pick from. Some sessions were so popular that there was standing room only, like at Understanding the Concur Data Warehouse Mode, Tech Talk: Web Services, Security & Optimizing Performance, and Concur & Cognos 10: Business Intelligence Today and Tomorrow. One client told us that the educational sessions at Fusion this year were better than the sessions at some other annual industry events. And, that’s really the point – sharing with our clients the value they can find with Concur.
Another huge driver to Fusion? Just as in other years, Fusion really is about the opportunity to network, network, network. Both with their peers and Concur employees, clients used this time to meet with as many people as they could. Whether it was at the First-Timers Reception, the Networking Breakfast, or many other social events, many industry connections were made. People also feverishly took notes throughout four days of educational sessions, and gathered real-life takeaways after talking with their peers. We overheard conversations like, “How do you manage mobile at your company?” And, “I hadn’t thought of that – I think I’ll try that approach when I get back to the office.”
One of our favorite activities is getting to talk with our clients. A few clients shared with us on camera about how they use Concur. The core theme this year? Over and over, clients shared that Concur makes their life easier by helping them save time. During the filming of a video testimonial, Concur client Mike Sesin from Merkle shared, “I’m able to do a lot more [with Concur]. I can work smarter now. We’re just much more efficient.”
Fusion wasn’t all work and no play, though. We were in Las Vegas, after all. On the final night of Fusion, we headed out to The Joint for live music and lots of dancing, crazy guitar sunglasses, a fun photo booth and loads of delicious food.
We loved getting the opportunity to meet all of you and hope that you found the content, networking opportunities, and social events invigorating, informative, and helpful. We want to extend a giant Elvis-inspired thank you to all of our clients, partners and sponsors for making this an event to remember.
