ExpenseIt Makes Manual Expense Reports a Thing of the Past

Automagical Expense App Has Turned a Quarter of a Million Receipts into Expenses for Concur Customers, and Sent 25,000 Synchronized Alerts to American Express Cardmembers

SAN FRANCISCO AND NEW ORLEANS – May 8, 2014 – ExpenseIt®, the automagical expense app from Concur (Nasdaq: CNQR), now makes it quicker and easier to create expense reports. Users simply snap a photo of a receipt with their smartphone on the go and ExpenseIt automatically turns the receipt into an expense. It’s a modern, time-saving alternative for the 52 percent of people who are still using manual or paper-based expense reporting.*

ExpenseIt is the Only Expense App that Works Seamlessly with Concur

Since launching for Concur customers at the end of 2013, ExpenseIt has turned more than a quarter of a million receipt images into expense reports for a variety of innovative companies, both small and large. Because employees are capturing expenses on the go, companies get a closer to real-time view into spending.

“We’re relentless in our mission to eliminate manual expense report creation once and for all, and ExpenseIt gets us one giant step closer,” said Barry Padgett, Executive Vice President of ExpenseIt and TripIt at Concur.

First Expense App to Deliver Synchronized Alerts to American Express Cardmembers

To make keeping track of expenses even easier, American Express Corporate Cardmembers that use ExpenseIt Pro and Concur Expense, can receive synchronized alerts reminding them to snap a photo of their receipt moments after swiping their card. Concur was the first company to integrate American Express’ transaction alerts when the feature became available in ExpenseIt Pro in early 2014. Since then, ExpenseIt has sent more than 25,000 of these reminders to American Express Cardmembers.

“Companies are looking to improve usability, accuracy and savings at every juncture. Working with ExpenseIt Pro and Concur Expense has proven advantageous for businesses that want to better capture spend on their American Express products,” said Jay Cary, Vice President, Digital, Global Corporate Payments at American Express. “ExpenseIt is the latest example of how our integration of data and applications with Concur removes cumbersome steps from the expense reporting process for our joint customers. In fact, when our clients add Concur to their Corporate Card program from American Express, they consolidate 10 percent more spend than they did with their previous expense processes.”

How it Works

Once a user takes a photo of a receipt from a smartphone, ExpenseIt Pro uses a combination of people and technology to accurately create the expense – and match it with the corresponding expense category and credit card transaction in Concur Expense. ExpenseIt Pro also itemizes hotel bills and captures digital receipts sent to Receipts@ExpenseIt.com. American Express Corporate Cardmembers that use ExpenseIt Pro and Concur Expense can elect to receive synchronized alerts reminding them to capture a photo of their receipt moments after swiping their card.
