Tell us about you in 100 words or less:
I am a private family man, happily married to my beautiful wife, Zein, with whom I have four amazing children: Musa, Heba, Maryam and Aisha. I love the outdoors and all forms of bicycling—though I am not any good at any one of them—and I am an avid auto enthusiast that likes to hit the race track every once in a while.
If you could learn one random skill, what would you learn?
I would want to learn Parkour. I mean, how awesome would it be to scale off walls and jump and roll over obstacles? I would feel like Spiderman or Batman, just without the obnoxious tights!
What inspires you to be who you are?
At one critical point in my life, as a sophomore in college, I had to make a decision to either become a musician—a heavy metal guitarist—or a computer scientist. I called my dad and he gave me the best simple advice, “Do whatever you want as long as you are the BEST at it.” I am inspired to be the best I can be each and every day because of my parents’ support throughout my childhood, and to offer that same support to my children.
What personal accomplishment are you most proud of? (outside of work)
Raising our four children with my wonderful wife,Zein.
Tell us how your career journey landed you here at Concur?
It all started with a simple contact from Vanessa Burnaby over LinkedIn. I did not even know what Concur was, and that got me interested to find out more. The rest is history.
What’s the best thing about working at Concur?
The people! It’s awesome to come in every morning and spend the day building amazing stuff with some of the best in the industry, week in and week out!
What do you feel is unique to Concur that other companies don’t have?
The culture. Concur’s culture is what defines it, I think. I have seen many cultures, but not as balanced as here at Concur. It offers a great mix of personal freedom and personal responsibility.
