A few weeks ago, we shared the exciting news that we had been nominated for a GeekWire Award. These annual awards offer recognition to local entrepreneurs, companies and innovations, supporting and enlisting the Pacific Northwest technology community to vote for their favorites in 13 different categories. Each award nomination is proposed by the tech community itself, so to win one of the self-proclaimed “Oscars of the Pacific Northwest” is quite a coveted honor, serving as a form of validation by your peers who have struggled alongside you, collaborated with you, competed with you in the tech space—making you better for it.
So when SAP’s acquisition of Concur had been nominated for GeekWire’s “Deal of the Year” Award, we were, needless to say, excited and deeply honored to be considered. After 25 years of being in business in the Pacific Northwest, Concur’s vision of travel and expense extends beyond the four walls of your company into a rich network of diverse partners – creating the perfect trip with an expense report that writes itself. By investing in cloud, mobile and an open platform, we deliver value to our customers and partners, and developed a model that works well across virtually any business process. Our App Center boasts over 100 partner apps connecting travelers and companies to manage complex travel and finance challenges in an effortless and integrated way. Without our customers, partners and local tech community, we would not be where we are today.
The combination of SAP and Concur made sense to the Concur board and co-founders. Steve Singh, Concur CEO and SAP Global Managing Board Member, said of their joint vision, “Together, SAP and Concur can more rapidly expand the ecosystem of partners connecting through an open platform to break down barriers and deliver a new level of integration and simplicity across processes.” Now, with the backing of one of the most trusted companies when it comes to technology, we can better advance our mission of making solutions for customer problems and execute on the shared vision of SAP and Concur.
We are pleased to officially announce that we won GeekWire’s “Deal of the Year” Award at last week’s ceremony held at the EMP Museum in Seattle! Concur Senior Director, Product Operations, and Acquisition Integration Lead, Matthew Moran, was on hand to accept the award. Regarding the honor, Moran said, “For Concur to be nominated was a great recognition of how focus on customer value, great products and tenacity over our 25 years was rewarded. Winning the award meant even more knowing our peers, and industry influencers, right here from the Northwest, voted for us. A number of attendees asked me afterwards what SAP got for their $8.3 billion and I let them know our recipe for success is a set of cloud products, employees with a “customer-first” mentality, how we work together as a team, and have leadership that is visionary. Transparency is in our DNA.”
Thank you to all who voted for Concur for “Deal of the Year”! And thank you to our extraordinary community, customers and partners. The past two decades have been an honor to share with you, and we look forward to many more years with you and SAP.
