During GBTA 2014 in July, Airbnb announced a partnership with Concur that would change the way that business travelers think about their hospitality options for the future – bringing the sharing economy to the Perfect Trip. The deal promised a new way to meet the demand business travelers were placing on the marketplace while providing companies with the data they need to keep employees safe and costs under control.
Last week that promise became a reality. With the launch of its app in the Concur App Center, and solutions to enable business travel flexibility, Concur and Airbnb are working together to cater to business travelers looking for unique, local accommodations, at any budget, anywhere in the world. Airbnb will enable business travelers to use Concur TripLink to book directly on Airbnb while passing that data automatically into Concur expense reports and travel itineraries for a completely seamless experience. The partnership with TripLink broadens Airbnb’s Business Travel availability to the UK and Australia, with more regions to be enabled in 2015.
As of today, Airbnb integration with TripLink is available to all Concur TripLink customers. In addition to the traditional hotel inventory Concur provides, business travelers can now take advantage of the apartments and houses Airbnb offers around the world. Travel managers will have complete visibility into itineraries and expenses, and employees will have the flexibility to book the spaces that make them feel at home on the road.
A few weeks ago we had the great pleasure of meeting with Marc McCabe, Business Development Lead for Business Travel, at the Airbnb headquarters in San Francisco, and he shared some of his excitement about the partnership with us.
