Run Simple: Reimagine the Promise at the Heart of Your Business
Your business began with a simple promise. And you went out and got it done. You got bigger and stronger. The world sped up. The global economy expanded. Technology became integral to your success. But then complexity found its way in, weighed you down, and distracted you from delivering on that simple promise. It’s time to get back to doing what you do best. Across every industry, the digital economy is rapidly changing how business is done – and how promises are fulfilled. Technology used to support your business, but today technology is your business. Bernd Leukert, member of the SAP Executive Board responsible for Products & Innovation, will discuss how SAP innovations, such as SAP S/4HANA, SAP HANA Cloud Platform, and the Internet of Things, help you refocus on the only conversation that matters today: how to deliver on that promise to your customers in today’s digital economy.

Speaker: Bernd Leukert, Member of the SAP Executive Board, Products & Innovation

Run Simple: Connect Your Business to the World and the World to Your Business
When you started out in your business, most of what you needed to fulfill that promise got done within your own four walls. But today’s world is different. Technology is connecting everything - businesses, people, and things – in entirely new ways. And those four walls? Market leaders and disruptors are looking far beyond them, inventing entirely new services and solutions that are connected, effortless, and transparent. When we are able to tap into the power of networks, we tap into the power and intelligence of entire ecosystems. Steve Singh, CEO of Concur, and member of the SAP Global Managing Board, will discuss how business networks give you a competitive edge in delivering your promise to your customers in today’s digital economy.

Speaker: Steve Singh, Member of the SAP Global Managing Board, and CEO, Concur

May 7 | 10:00 am : The In-Memory Revolution: How SAP HANA Enables Business of the Future

Six years ago, Hasso Plattner proposed a common database architecture for transaction processing and analytical systems using a columnar in-memory database, disputing the common belief that columnar storages are not suitable for transactional workloads in enterprise applications. Today, the concept has been widely adopted in academia and industry. It has been proven that this approach is not only feasible but it also leads to a dramatic simplification of data models, less transaction complexity, the highest flexibility of queries, an impressive performance, and finally a reduction in the total cost of ownership. This redefines the way we can build enterprise software because we are now able to run analytical queries on large data sets directly on the finest granularity of data, eliminating the need to maintain prebuilt aggregate tables, and to implement transaction and analytical features in one system. So, it is now possible to create the next generation of business applications, which will enable, for example, interactive boardroom meetings, smart environments, or personalized medicine. Listen as Hasso Plattner describes the in-memory revolution and how SAP HANA is enabling the business of the future.
