One of the upper level executives had sent me an email thread along with a request for me to attend a meeting that was scheduled to take place a couple months in the future. I promptly booked my tickets and hotel for the trip. I arrived without a hitch and walked into the office all ready to attend the meeting.
When I walked into the conference room there was a group of people I did not recognize. I didn't see the executive that had requested my presence among them either. I left quickly and called the executive that had requested my presence.
Turned out they never scheduled the meeting after all and forgot to tell me. I did enjoy the nice office I was provided and got some work done remotely while I was there regardless.
