I was on my way to a meeting with a coworker who I didn’t know very well. We were on a busy two-lane road in rush hour when a stray dog ran in front of our car. Without missing a beat, she jumped out and ran after the dog leaving me stunned and unsure what to do. Thankfully traffic wasn’t moving that fast so I watched through my rearview mirror as she coaxed the dog to come with her. Before long both of them were back in the car and quite stinky. She begged me to help her return the dog and I was like, well, we’re not bringing him to the meeting. I suggested we find a nearby vet versus navigating around Cleveland. She agreed. We arrived 30 minutes late and slipped into the back of the, no kidding, Ethics meeting.
