Concur and TripIt Combine to Delight the Business Traveler
Today, I’m pleased to announce that Concur and TripIt are combining to bring you an even better travel and expense management experience.
Mobile has changed the way business travelers book, share, manage, and expense their travel plans and there is a universal need to bring order to the chaos. This is true for both managed and unmanaged travel, booked by an individual. Together, TripIt and Concur will help travelers have the best possible experience throughout their entire business trip – from planning, booking, and traveling, to managing the itinerary – to helping travelers deal with changes that happen during business travel – all the way through to the expense report.
Here at Concur, we’re thrilled with this collaboration because of the value it delivers to the millions of people who use our services. TripIt’s capabilities to enable travelers to organize and share travel plans no matter where or how they book are a perfect complement to Concur’s Web-based and mobile integrated travel and expense management solutions. The enhanced offering, coupled with Concur’s global reach and industry leadership, will provide a great end-to-end business travel experience.
This collaboration also creates exciting opportunities for third-party developers. Jointly, Concur and TripIt will offer an open platform that integrates mobile and Web services, content, and technology from third-party developers, suppliers, travel management companies and customers.
Concur intends to fully support and continue TripIt’s offerings as we accelerate innovation in this product category and expand the company’s reach among more travelers and companies globally. And TripIt customers will continue to enjoy the same level of service that they’ve come to expect. We look forward to providing you with more details as they become available. For more information, please see our press release and FAQs.
We’re excited about the opportunities this presents for both companies and extend a warm welcome to everyone from TripIt. We’re delighted to have you on board!

Concur Travel includes many features that allow you to streamline change as well as cancel trips. Would you mind emailing us at connected@concur.com so we can check your company configurations and see if something isn't enabled? If it is enabled and difficult to use we would welcome feedback on how to improve it.
Thank you.
I use TripIt because it does what Concur and my travel agent don't. It would be great it Concur could build my TripIt itinerary and I could skip the whole forwarding emails step.
Concur is definitely an enterprise solution and it has some obvious usability issues. I think part of it is the implementation, if it's customized, and the slow speed of our in-house intranet. Cancelling a trip is quirky, at best, and rebooking requires you to go to the airline site. Then, the business rules slam you on the expense report because you don't have a matching itinerary. If TripIt could fix that, I'd be quite happy. How many of us business travelers rebook travel? Probably 100%; not all the time, but it's definitely a task that happens and TripIt makes it simple to contact everyone. Concur just smacks you upside the head.
Interesting development. Congratulations to the Tripit team who have built the best travel-support app out there (and I have tried 5 others).
I am ambivalent about this development. While my company uses Concur for expense reporting (integrated to our corporate T&E card) and I would rate Concur as 4 out of 5 stars (which is a top rating as far as our enterprise software goes, coming in at #2 rank IMHO), Tripit (Pro) is a tool that I have a strong personal connection to. I manage all my business travel AND my personal travel with it. It's integrated with all my other calendars. It simplifies my travel planning and eliminated headaches while on the road. I hope Tripit users won't end up loosing that level of passion due to changes necessary to integrate it with Concur.
On the positive side, the Concur interface could improve from the adoption of some of the design aspects of Tripit.
We’re sorry to hear about your experience with Concur. That’s never something we want to hear from you or any of our customers. We'd like to help. If you could reach out to us by emailing us at connected@concur.com to tell us more, we’ll see what we can do about making your experience as great as the one you have with TripIt.
What a shame. Tripit is great. Concur is not-so-great. In fact, in my experience it is a mess.
The other way around would also be great. Why not allow travelers to use Tripit, which is mobile, to capture say cash expenditures in Concur as you go (credit card expenditures automatically hit Concur)? I currently use Concur at the office and Tripit on my iPhone, so a great merger for me. I forward BCD itineraries to Tripit which does the rest.
That’s a great question. At this time, we're working though plans on how we'll offer TripIt to existing Concur customers. Thank you!
Will employees of companies utilizing Concur be provided with complementary Tripit Pro ?
