About six months ago we launched Concur® Mobile, a mobile platform that allows business travelers to manage their travel and expenses on the road. Mobility is a trend we’re continuing to see pick up steam, but Concur Mobile is much more than just a response to a new technology fad. In fact, the decision to develop a mobile platform was a very strategic move for Concur and as a result, we’ve seen significant client adoption from companies looking to remove some of the hassle associated with business travel and expense reporting.

Concur Mobile was initially developed for BlackBerry and Windows Mobile through a partnership with Pyxis Mobile, a mobile application development company selected for their proven ability to develop a secure and scalable application for multiple platforms in a very tight turnaround. Within eight months, we were able to deliver a fully functional application to our early adopters. Following the success of Concur Mobile for BlackBerry and Windows Mobile, we’ve continued to work with Pyxis Mobile and recently made Concur Mobile available for Apple’s iPhone through Apple’s App Store. By leveraging the company’s expertise in developing for multiple platforms, tens of thousands of Concur® Travel & Expense users now have the choice to use Concur Mobile on three of the most popular smartphone platforms. In fact, according to Pyxis Mobile, Concur was the first enterprise to offer a single, common application across all three major mobile operating systems (BlackBerry, iPhone and Windows Mobile).

At the end of the day, Concur Mobile is about making our clients lives easier – and supporting major mobile platforms and providing real-time content is part of that objective.
